Professional FileMaker Pro Database Application DevelopmentWhy Use FileMaker Pro?One of the biggest benefits of using FileMaker Pro over any other database platform, is that it's 100% cross-platform. This is unique. No other non-web-based database platform gives you this flexibility, and Stuchbury Associates can help you to harness this power and turn it to your business advantage. FileMaker Pro is a graphical platform, meaning we start from a blank canvass and can design your interface the way you want it to be, without being tied to conventions. Of course, if you want your application to look like a program familiar to you, no problem. With FileMaker Pro, and Stuchbury Associates' attention to detail and interface design skills, it can be done. We have worked with clients in a multitude of industiries, including:
Our FileMaker Development Process, "The Stuchbury Way"When we begin working with a client on a database project, the first thing we do is listen. We listen to what the client (management level) thinks they want, why they think they want it and what they think they want the solution to do. We then talk to the staff about what the management team have told us, and get their feedback. We listen to how they do things currently, what they want to improve upon and what they want to change completely. We then present our findings and recommendations to the management team, and encourage feedback. The management team will typically then communicate with the rest of the staff, and along with us, agree the final goals of the database application. It is only then that we put pen to paper and begin to plan the outline structure of the database, focusing on what it will do, rather than how it will do it. We answer the following questions: What will each section look like? What data will it display? What buttons are required, and what will they do? And many others, all related to the visual design of the application. Once the visual elements are completed and signed-off, we begin the technical development work, maintaining a close relationship with the client to ensure it is right first time. We compile full design & technical documentation throughout development, which is handed over to the client on completion. |
